Meet Miss Marilyn Honkroe 🪿💗
We are delighted to introduce Miss Marilyn Honkroe, a very special porch goose being donated by Hillmar Farm in collaboration with The Pearl Goose by Nicole.
Miss Marilyn Honkroe was lovingly named in honor of our sweet Marilyn, whom we adopted from TLC Humane Society. Just like her namesake, Miss Marilyn Honkroe has plenty of personality, a little sass, and a whole lot of charm!
So… what exactly is a Porch Goose?
A porch goose is a delightful piece of Americana—a decorative goose traditionally displayed on a front porch, beside an entryway, or tucked into a garden. But a porch goose isn’t simply a decoration. She becomes part of the family.
The tradition became especially popular during the 1980s and 1990s, when people began dressing their geese for holidays, seasons, birthdays, sporting events, weddings, and just about any occasion worth celebrating. Today, porch geese can have wardrobes that would rival our own—complete with dresses, hats, raincoats, Halloween costumes, Christmas outfits, and plenty of accessories.
Over the years, these quirky geese have developed quite the devoted following. People name them, paint them, dress them, photograph them, and even give them their own social-media personalities.
And Miss Marilyn Honkroe is certainly no ordinary porch goose. Created by The Pearl Goose by Nicole and donated by Hillmar Farm, she combines a little nostalgia, a little whimsy, and a whole lot of heart.
Most importantly, she honors the little dog who inspired her name and celebrates the wonderful work of TLC Humane Society, which gives animals like Marilyn the opportunity to find loving homes and become cherished members of a family.
Miss Marilyn Honkroe is ready to find her forever porch. 🪿💎🐾
Fair warning: once a porch goose moves in, she may require an extensive wardrobe. We started her collection for you with an adorable cowgirl hat, pink tutu, and sunglasses.
Please note: Marilyn is made of concrete and weighs more than 50 pounds. You may need assistance moving her to her new home!
